Payment Methods

The Howard University Bookstore accepts Cash, Checks, Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover, ATM, and Student Charges.  Money Orders or Cashiers Checks are requested instead of personal checks for online or mail orders.  To set up a store account for textbooks and supplies print our Payment Authorization Form and fax to the store.

Shipping Methods

The following is our standard shipping rates.  Final shipping costs may be adjusted if necessary based on merchandise size, wieght, and destination.

Returns Policy

ORIGINAL ITEMIZED CASH RECEIPT MUST ACCOMPANY ALL MERCHANDISE*

Merchandise must be in good, resalable condition, as purchased.  All boxes, wrappers, stickers and tags must be intact and affixed to merchandise.  Refund issued in same currency paid; please allow 14 days for refund if paid by check.

GENERAL MERCHANDISE/TRADE BOOKS/APPAREL/GIFTS

General Merchandise, Trade Books, Apparel and Gift Items may be returned for a full refund, exchange, or store credit within fourteen (14) days of original sale.

TEXTBOOKS/COURSE RELATED MATERIALS

New textbooks , study aids, exam prep, notes review books, etc are only returnable, starting the first day of classes, within the first two weeks of the fall/spring semesters and the first 3 days of the summer session.

New textbooks, study aids, exam prep, notes, review books etc. purchased after the 2nd week of any semester are FINAL SALE.  Used textbooks and custom course and lab materials are only returnable within the first two weeks when accompanied with proof that the course has either been dropped or cancelled.

COMPUTERS/ELECTRONICS

Hardware:  All hardware sales are final at the time of pickup.  If the product is defective, it must be repaired or replaced as per the manufacturer’s warranty policy.

Software/Electronics:  Returnable if unopened, or deemed defective by our staff.

FINAL SALE/NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES

No refunds/exchanges for these items

HUB returns policy 01/06

Buyback Information

Photo I.D. Required. Books in reusable condition. We buy all books having resale value.  In addition, books on retail list may receive up to 50% of purchased price for books that are required for the following semester (subject to HUB's stock on hand). Wholesale service available for textbooks no longer required by the HUB (prices not established by Bookstore).
